What You'll Do:

As a RN Nurse Manager, you will carry out our Mission of Love by ensuring the care of our residents is provided in a safe, caring, timely, and appropriate manner by maintaining the appropriate competencies and skills through continuing education that encompasses all of these areas. This will include assisting our residents in reaching or attaining the highest potential in their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Our RN Nurse Manager are responsible for the following:

  • Contributes to the comprehensive planning process of the nursing department and obtains achievable objectives connected to appropriate goals and guided by the mission and goals of Masonic Village.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Nursing for budget development. Accountable for financial and operational performance for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Upholds expectations of performance development plan (customized and developed in collaboration with the Director of Nursing).
  • Accountable for assuring an appropriate staffing schedule for relevant nursing personnel consistent with adequate staffing guidelines regarding specific areas of responsibility. Responsible for staff scheduling and covering open shifts as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Director of Nursing to ensure maintenance of adequate staffing for the community.  Coverage of open shifts includes holiday coverage when necessary to maintain adequate staffing for the community.
  • Assures appropriate amounts of time on each assigned resident care area to demonstrate support of employees and all other customers, to assure problem solving and identify future opportunities for improvement
  • Provide sincere praise and recognition to employees especially within assigned areas of responsibility. Seek opportunities to observe staff doing their jobs well.  Delegates to nursing charge personnel the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties.  Fulfills the roles of nursing staff as needed in staffing shortage situations.
  • Collaborates with Director of Nursing, other managers and Human Resources personnel regarding nursing staff recruitment, interviews and selection of employees. Assists with the interview process of internal candidates for open positions through our formalized selection process. Supports the mentoring program for new employees.
  • Assures timely completion of Performance Appraisal Conference (PAC) for all day shift nursing employees and all LPNs and CNAs from the evening and night shifts. Provides corrective action per the Masonic Village Personnel Policy Handbook and recommends termination of employment of nursing personnel from their area of responsibility.
  • Supports the quality improvement initiative including nursing quality assurance. Assures and/or conducts monitoring of documentation in geriatric resident care practices for assigned resident care areas to assure compliance with acceptable standards.  Participates in the Infection Control Program especially regarding their particular area of responsibility.
  • Review concerns, complaints and grievances filed by employees, residents or families/responsible parties. Takes necessary steps to resolve same.
  • Responsible for staff scheduling and will work the floor "as needed" to maintain adequate staffing for the community. Will provide holiday coverage if warranted.

 

What You Definitely Have:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Registered Nurse). Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Master's degree (preferred).
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (required).
  • Two years recent experience in a long-term care environment including satisfactory experience in a leadership role (required).
  • Current knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to long term care (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • CPR certification required prior to or upon hire.
  • Prior scheduling experience (preferred).
