What You'll Do:

As a Executive Chef, you will carry out our Mission of Love by ensuring the care of our residents is provided in a safe, caring, timely, and appropriate manner by maintaining the appropriate competencies and skills through continuing education that encompasses all of these areas. This will include assisting our residents in reaching or attaining the highest potential in their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Our Executive Chef is responsible for the following:

  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, long and short term goals and methods of food production to achieve objectives and to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Orients new employees and instructs and trains them in work procedures which are essential for all food service operations. Arranges work schedules and assigns duties.
  • Establishes and monitors work flow to promote efficiency in food processing functions. Institutes and monitors a quality control and accuracy program to assure meals served are as ordered on line tickets.
  • Evaluates employee work performance and recommends personnel actions such as commendations or disciplinary action to Director of Food Service.
  • Plans menus and standards for cooks. Order all food to complete daily and weekly menus. Reviews with Director of Food Services,
  • Assists to develop and implement training program for production staff in order to continue to upgrade their production skill. Assures that all hourly employees are directly involved with special functions on a rotating basis.
  • Monitors and inventories over-produced foods. Insure foods are properly chilled or frozen and marked for designated future use.  Follows procedure for use of leftover foods.  Assures that the kitchen staff are aware of and follow up-to-date food handling recommendations for updated training and/or equipment.
  • Holds daily production meetings with all cooks/staff on duty. Reviews next day's menu.  Reviews problems with today's menu.  Discusses problems with Director of Food Services. Insures all  temperature logs and safety procedures are followed.
  • Establish and maintain master cleaning schedule to ensure sanitation of the kitchen and performs weekly sanitation inspections. Develops corrective action plans.  Insures deficiencies are corrected. Forward results to Director of Food Services.

What You Definitely Have:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of the culinary arts/college or equivalent schooling/experience.
  • Experience in food processing with supervising experience in a restaurant setting.
  • Good written and oral communication and proficient with computer software.
